What is a security deposit?

A security deposit is a way for the local company to temporarily hold some funds to cover for the an eventuality during your rental. The vast majority of rentals require a security deposit to be left prior to driving away with the vehicle. The amount required is listed at the bottom of every motorbike page in the "Rental policy" section as well as in your Riderly rental voucher once the booking is confirmed.

The security deposit is managed by the local rental office in accordance to the contract you sign when collecting the vehicle.

At the end of the rental, the local office will release the security deposit and it usually will settle back in your bank within 5 to 10 working days depending on the card/banking institution.

Some of our partners will also accept a passport as a deposit instead of money, in that is the case it will be stated in brackets
